Jyotiraditya Scindia came up as a hero as he Saved Life of Co-Passenger in Shatabdi Train
Congress leader and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia turned as a real hero when his co-passenger on the Bhopal Shatabdi Express had a heart attack on the outskirts of Delhi. In the absence of any medical assistance, Scindia immediately called Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and ensured that the girl was transported to a hospital, reports
The main incident took place around midnight, when the train from Agra to Delhi had stopped for nearly two hours at the outer signal in Delhi. According to India Today, “the girl, who was mainly sitting across Congress Leader Scindia, felt minor chest pain and suddenly collapsed.” Scindia asked for emergency medical facilities on the train but got the information that there were no such available arrangements.
Action shows the lack of medical facilities
After Scindia’s call, an ambulance was immediately sent by the Railways at around 2:30 am, which took the girl to the hospital. The incident has mainly drawn attention to the lack of medical facilities in the Railways, apart from Scindia’s action being praised.
And Reacting to this incident, Agra Tourist Welfare Chamber Secretary Vishal Sharma told India Today that, “Stopping the train for this long at the outer signal and then failing to provide any sort of medical assistance to a seriously ill passenger are both very alarming examples of callousness on the part of the railways.”
