Personal Life & Political Career
Anurag Singh Thakur is a member of Lok Sabha of Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, India. He is the son of Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He is the third time MP. Member of Loksabha, 14, 15 and 16 years old. He was first elected to Lok Sabha in May 2008 in an examination by examination as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Hamirpur representative BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. He was elected chairman of the Cricket Control Council in India in May 2016. On July 29, 2016, he became the first BJP parliament member to become a regular territorial army officer.
Early life and education
Thakur was born on October 24, 1974 in Hamirpur. He is the eldest son of Prem Kumar Dhumal and Sheela Devi. He studied at Dayanand Model School in Jalandhar. He then completed his degree at Doaba College, Jalandhar.
Political career
In May 2008, Thakur succeeded his father as an elected member of the 14th Lok Sabha Parliament of India in Hamirpur district. He was re-elected at the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 and in 2014 at the 16th Loksabha. Later, Thakur was appointed chairman of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (India). Anurag Thakur leads a march from Calcutta to Lal Chowk in Srinagar under the banner of "Rashtriya Ekta Yatra" sponsored by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on January 26, 2011.
Thakur is a third elected member of the Hamirpur constituency in Himachal Pradesh - MP (MP) - 16th Lok Sabha (with a margin record) (Hamirpur, HP). Thakur is one of the young parliamentarians in India today and received the Best Young Parliamentarian Award in 2011. [citation needed]. Anurag Thakur is currently the Chief Whip of the BJP in Lok Sabha on July 18, 2018.
Cricket career
Thakur played a trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir in November 2000 while he was president of the HPCA. He helped create the world-class cricket stadium in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. He played a first-class cricket match representing Himachal Pradesh and a team of Jammu and Kashmir won by 4 wickets.
Cricket administrator
He was chairman of the Cricket Control Commission of India (BCCI) until the UN Supreme Court Anurag Thakur as president on 02/01/2017. At the beginning of his administrative term, he became famous for being the first cricketer to make his first-class debut after taking office as president of the National Cricket Association in July 2000. This first-class cricket experience has allowed induction into the BCCI Junior National Selection Committee, provided that first-class players can be national breeders.
Thakur has continued to rise to the position of secretary of the BCCI. On May 22, 2016, Mr. Thakur became President of BCCI and in January 2017, he resigned from the Supreme Court.
Thakur is also the founder of the Honore Our Women Foundation (HOW), an initiative to raise society's awareness of women's issues, safety and self-reliance through seminars, street games and Sports.
Territorial Army
In July 2016, Anurag Thakur became part of the Territorial Army, becoming the first member of the BJP Parliament in service to become an officer of the regular territorial army.
Personal life
Thakur married Shefali Thakur, daughter of Gulab Singh Thakur, former minister of the Public Works Department of the Himachal Pradesh Government, on November 27, 2002.
