General Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC (born May 10, 1951) is an Indian politician and a retired four-star general in the Indian Army. Since May 26, 2014; he has Minister of External Affairs to the Indian Government led by the NDA. He served as Minister of State for North East Development in the Government, Portfolio and Language of the United States by Jitendra Singh.
During his military career, Singh was the 24th Chief of Staff from 2010 to 2012. He became the first Indian Chief of Staff to sue the Indian government for a dispute over his birth and retirement
After leaving the army, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014 and was elected Lok Sabha MP in the 2014 Indian general election; from the district of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
He wrote an autobiography, Courage and Conviction.
Military career
Singh was commissioned in the 2nd Battalion of the Rajput Regiment (Kali Chindi) on June 14, 1970. He commanded the same unit when he was positioned along the line of control with Pakistan.
He is a graduate of the College of Defense Services. He graduated from the United States Army Infantry School, graduated from the Rangers Course at Fort Benning and from the United States Army College War in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Singh has experimented with counter-insurgency and altitude operations. He also acted as a young lieutenant in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 while he was a 2 Rajput intelligence officer. [Citation needed] During his career, he has held various positions:
Instructor at the headquarters of the Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT) in Bhutan.
Instructor at the Infantry School twice and Chief Instructor at JLW (Commando Wing), Belgaum.
Directorate of Military Operations at Army Headquarters.
Served as CO 2 Rajput, the battalion in which he was commissioned.
Served as Colonel General Staff of the 12th Infantry Division

Singh became the 24th Army Chief of Staff on March 31, 2010 and was the first commando to secure the position. Towards the end of his career, this is a birth date proposal. The army must bring the government to justice. Following an error made during his registration at the National Defense Academy in 1965. He withdrew his writ in February 2012 when, according to The Hindu, the Supreme Court of India "refused to intervene". The Court noted that this person had no dispute as to his date of birth and that he decided that Singh had three times accepted the date of erroneous registration.
The BBC noted in 2012 that defense experts felt that the desire to modernize the Indian government had suffered "from a lack of planning and acceptance of health services and the Ministry of Defense". This report follows an interview given by Singh in March 2012 that provoked a political dispute. Singh said in the previous year, there had already been at Defense Minister AK Antony that he had received a bribe of $ 2.7 million if the army had bought several copies of substandard vehicles. Antony refuted the interview saying that he had asked at that time that Singh provide a report on the incident and that it was never submitted. Two days after meeting with Singh, the correspondence between General and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was disclosed. Singh retired as Chief of Staff of the Army on May 31, 2012. He was replaced by General Bikram Singh.
Political career
After leaving the army, Singh showed his support for the anti-corruption movement. He was seen in August 2012 in Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi, where Mr. Ramdev sought protection against money and corruption. He reportedly said, "There are more than two million farmers who have been committing suicide since 1995. The problems of farmers and the foreground in this movement then." This is also a comparison of the movement, of which Anna Hazare is the leading figure, to that of the Bihar movement, which was led by Jayaprakash Narayan in 1975. He said that "when I evaluate the current situation of the country, Jayaprakash Narayan then said, "Get out of the throne". He believes that corruption was at the root of all the problems ... the situation in the country is the same today ".

Singh led with a stir with Yoga Guru Ramdev on December 23, 2012, in Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on the 2012 Delhi gang rape case
Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata party on March 1, 2014. He won the seat of Ghaziabad (Lok Sabha constituency) in the 2014 general election, Raj Babbar of the Indian National Congress by 567,260 votes.
Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior for the Northeast Region
In May 2014, Mr. Singh was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs (Independent Lead) of the Northeast Region in the Indian government led by the NDA. Singh is commended for leading Operation Raahat, a rescue mission aimed at evacuating Indian citizens and other foreign nationals from Yemen in 2015.
